Not completely lost but looking for a map anyway

OK...Building a home. The builder put in a Steren structured wiring panel and wired the living room for home theatre. I even had him put a subwoofer connection from the back of the TV area (above the fireplace) to the side of the fireplace. All CL-2 wiring.

Where does one get parts for the structured wiring panel (so they mount in nicely and can shut the panel door)? Part such as moutable ethernet switches, power strips, Amplifiers for Cable TV signals, Cable distro unit...stuff like that? Amazing in this day and age it is difficult to find a central place...

I am fairly technical and proficient. (worked on nuclear weapons on submarines for 12 years) I can follow diagrams, think things through etc.

Thanks for the road map.

You may want to try Monoprice.com. There may be also similar offerings found among the many sponsors of HT Forum. Good luck!

Tim, you might want to have a moderator move this thread to the "Members' Home Theater Projects" forum, since this is more a "sophisticated build" issue than a "what is an a/v receiver?" kind of "Basics" question. You're more likely to get specific comments about particular products or vendors, or the benefit of members' personal experiences with this type of thing in "Projects" than here.
