I have a 46" Samsung LCD LN46A550 that's about 1.5 years old. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed on the left side of the screen what looked like someone took a rag and wiped a small area. Since we have maids come in like twice a month I figured they did it, so I tried to clean it with screen cleaner, but it doesn't appear to be a problem on the surface at all. Cleaning it changed nothing.
When the screen is a bright solid color, it is most noticable. The area that looks like a rag wipe is maybe 6 inches long and has just a weird shape to it. The color in that area is just slightly darker so if the screen is bright with like a light gray this would be just a shade darker, but you can definitely see it. If the colors are all mixed it totally goes away.
Is this something that might be fixable? I can live with it for the most part, but it is one of those things I grit my teeth when I see it.
