I am getting tired of the jumpy camera shot...

I have been noticing the jumpy camera shots more in shows lately. CSI and Terminator:SCC. Its just getting annoying. Is it supposed to add realism? If yes..How? When I am looking a people my vision isn't jumping around. LOL

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

I believe it's done because it adds more tension. It doesn't bother me all that much personally, but it is a little overdone lately.

I hate it when a gimmick becomes a cliche.

The worst is when it is done during normal conversations. What exactly are they trying to add?

Add in the constant zooming in and out for no reason and some shows become unwatchable for me.

This was one of the biggest reasons why I could never get into the new BSG series. Keep the damn camera still would you please!! The latest Bourne movie suffered from this as well.

I don't like it at all, as it is similar in motion to first-person. I see no benefit of it being used.

Count me in as a another hater of that gimmick. Just so annoying...especially once you take note of it.

Oddly enough, I thought that all the handheld stuff done on "The Shield" worked really well. I am not sure what the difference was, but I never had a problem with their cinematography.

Re: I am getting tired of the jumpy camera shot...

It works on some shows and fails in other. Shows like BSG and even Arrested Development used it as a documentary styling and in that vein it is perfectly suited. NYPD Blue and other shows shook the camera in a calculated way and it was vain and annoying. It's all in how its used and for what purposed I think.

Yeah, The Shield is another good example of show that uses it well.
