Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

This will be nice to have back.

LOTS of stuff happening in the media for them to make fun of.

Obama, Christian Bale rant on T4 and the Octomom just to name a few.

My bet is that they do an Octomom episode somehow.

Maybe, but it seems to be what a lot of people are expecting, so maybe they won't. Certainly the recession would be a ripe target.

Maybe with the kids they can call the episode Recess-ion

Along with the recession episode some company in South Park gets a bail out

Maybe the Octomom can be the new Sally Struthers they use to make fun of a few times.

Or maybe Kenny's family has to teach South Park how to be poor.

Episode 1 – The Ring

Thinking it's his way into her heart and other body parts, Kenny takes his new girlfriend to a Jonas Brothers concert. His dream of taking their relationship to the next level is crushed when the Jonas Brothers give them purity rings.

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

That was a hilarious episode. Best bits: Kenny is happy that his girlfriend is a slut, the dead-on attack on Disney's selling of the Jonas Brothers and that Kenny died of syphilis.

Great start to the season!

How are they not getting sued over this?

But yeah, very funny episode

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

Very funny episode.
I loved it how babies and little girls were in the audience going nuts during the concert.

And I'm sure this whole purity thing the Jonas brothers have is an act.

Also funny how Mickey was pissed that Dreamworks was after him.

For some reason, sex between fifth graders still creeps me out. Everything with the Jonas brothers was pretty funny.

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

I don't think it was their best effort, but I did enjoy Mickey all throughout; especially giant Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Mickey floating over Denver and breathing fire. And I also wonder how they've never been sued!

Hopefully Octomom will be next week. Maybe they can show that the Baby Daddy is actually the giant squid from "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea..."

I know what you mean but it seems like the kids' ages "vary" with what story they want to tell. Sometimes they're 4th graders and sometimes they're high school kids.

I know!! I kept thinking: "well, they called him Mr. Mouse, so maybe that's their legal 'out', but then they called him Mickey!" ha-HA!

With this whole Chris Brown thing beating up Rhianna.
And hearing on the news that kids are now using the terms
"I'm going to Chris Brown you!" and "You've just been Rhiannaed!"

I'm wondering if Trey and Matt are going to have the South Park kids use these terms at some point, especially Cartman.

When the girl said, "My giney's tingling...!" the wife and i just looked at each other and went, "oh...my...god"

The grinding they were doing at the concert was just wrong! (but in a good way!)

The "white foam" they sprayed on the audience and the girls backstage opening their mouths had me on the floor.

Great episode! Kenny's excitement at getting a blow job was hilarious as were the girls reaction to the Jonas Brothers concert, the hot foam, Kenny's death and Mickeys backstage rant. A big improvement over the weak second half of last year.

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

Oh my God!

Just finished watching this.

The most hilarious South Park....EVER!

I couldn't believe this made it through the censors --- especially the
snowman the kids were building.

I don't understand how Disney isn't having a fit over this. Some
people may actually look at this episode as marketing truth.

My favorite highlights were the Mamba condoms, the snowman, the
white foam being sprayed in the girl's faces....and of course, Mickey
cursing and beating the crap out of the pop group.

Just an awesomely funny episode that really pushed the envelope.

This is top-notch South Park!

Unlike Tom Cruise, Disney is probably smart enough to say nothing. If Disney threatened a lawsuit or made some public statement, it would be one of the most downloaded things on the internet right now. As it stands, only SP viewers are seeing it.

It's an interesting point. I've heard the theories that publically claming to hold onto virginity is a back door (no pun intended) way of selling sex to the public. Take Brittney Spears, who famously "held on" to her virginity. Every time that was mentioned, who didn't think about her sexually? Flash forward a few years and one of her big songs is called "If You Seek Amy" (Say it to yourselves a few times)

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

I can promote not having sex all I want. Will kids have sex if if I tell them not to have sex? Maybe they won't have sex because of all the anit-sex campaigns.

I do seem to find it very ironic that the whole point behind this site (Welcome to PurityRings.com - Helping to encourage purity, abstinence and chastity.) is sex. It's almost like they're saying "Sex is going to be SO FREAKIN' GREAT when you're married!!".

Hmmm, what better way to keep teenagers hormones in check then by having them bottle it up.....does anyone else hear tick tick tick tick??

If I were the abstinence people, I'd just start airing commercials of babies shrieking and shitting themselves, etc. Tell people not to do something is always less effective than showing the consequences of doing it.

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

The thing I love about Matt and Trey is that they do bring out very
ugly and controversial truths about the material they parody.

I'm not saying that the purity rings are a marketing gimmick by
Disney to sell sex to underage teens.

However, on the other hand, it doesn't seem too far off from the
truth that Disney is able to sell these sexy teen idols to an underage
audience under the guise that they have some sort of purity contract
with themselves.

I mean, the genius of this past week's episode is that Matt and Trey
are cleverly using over-the-top humor to make a point. I sat there
and thought to myself, "Gee, what a brilliant idea if all of this were true."

Re: South Park: Season Thirteen

South Park kids have never been portrayed as high school kids, and it was Kenny's girlfriend who was in fifth grade, not the boys themselves. That's why they pointed out that she was in the fifth grade.

Me too, right after they said they wouldn't do that. I had a surreal moment when I was flipping through the channels after watching this, and saw the real Jonas Bros. on the real Disney Channel.

Bingo. Taking care of a baby is hard enough when you're in your thirties and planning for it ahead of time, let alone in your teens!

This episode was great. Usually the SP season premieres are lame -- this could very well be the best one since "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe."

They actually do exist. There are condom ads (I don't think any of them air on American TV) that do just that to some extent. The one I remember was a kid with his young mother in a grocery store and the kid is screaming his head off, throwing stuff, etc. I'm sure you can You Tube it.

That's exactly what I was thinking of when I posted that. I believe it was a Swedish commercial. I guess that just doesn't fly in a society as kid-centric as the United States, for better or for worse.

Tonight's episode was fantastic, one of the few that tells a great self-contained story while being a dead-on parody. I loved that they weaved Professor Chaos into the fold and really explored the geography of South Park. As for Cartman's identity, complete with Fleischer Superman animated short style title card, hol-ee crap. Can't believe that made it past standards and practices.

I really wish we knew who Mysterion was, though. Fantastic self-deprecating reveal.
