Would like to know name of short lived sci-fi show from the '70s

I remember two episodes from this series and they were both pretty good. One episode was about army toys coming alive on a farm. The second takes place now/then and is about a man buying his son an old WWII radio that he builds. Somehow the son contacts his father's father who's on a boat off the eastern coast. His fathers' father was killed in WWII, so it's hard to believe they actually made contact.

Their house is connected to their grocery store. When the father walks into the store, he notices that the calendar has swaztikas on it. When he looks out the door, he sees Nazis on each corner...Hitler/Germany had won WWII.

All this happened because they contacted the dead father and changed the course of history. That's the way I remember the episode, so take it with a grain of salt.

What's the name of that show???

Re: Would like to know name of short lived sci-fi show from the '70s

Those were two episodes of the short-lived (16 episodes) 1981 suspense anthology series, DARKROOM, hosted by James Coburn. It ran on Friday nights at 9 on ABC and is owned by Universal. It was rerun a few times on The Sci-Fi Channel, back in the days when that network was halfway worthwhile. I'm surprised it hasn't turned up on Chiller Channel (what with it being a Universal subsidiary and all).

The toy-soldiers-coming-to-life-on-a-farm episode was entitled, "Siege of 31 August" (episode #6), and the farmer was played by actor Ronny Cox (DELIVERANCE, ROBOCOP).

The one about the radio set changing the outcome of WWII was called, "Stay Tuned, We'll Be Right Back" (episode #2).

Though the outcome was not as dark, it sounds like Frequency ripped off that radio episode.
