I am in the market for a new LCD tv. I'm new to hd and what I'm looking for is opinions on some sets. I'm am considering from sony the kld-52xbr6 or 7. Samsung ln-55a950 and the sharp 65inch lc-65se94u. I could use some opinions or suggestions on other brands and models i should be looking at. Thanks. Gary.

Re: LCD selection help please?

Greetings

Calibrates nicely when accessing the ISF service menu.

If trying to do it by yourself, the TV is pretty hard to get right ... even if you have your own test equipment.

Re: LCD selection help please?

Good Choice

This Tv is larger than the average tv in the market. Display images sharper and more realstic providing the source is high defination.

Re: LCD selection help please?

Well i did order it and the 52se94u will be in my living room on march 9th. I can't wait. I'm going to pair it with a samsung bd-p2550 blu ray player and am looking forward to the netflix streaming option. I also like the pandora option too.

Re: LCD selection help please?

I have had the LC-52se94u for a week and it's great. I do have to calibrate it but have no idea how. Geek squad says they will do it for $299 is that a good price?

Re: LCD selection help please?

$299 is an awesome price, yes, but I would think long and hard before I let the Geek Squad go mucking about in my new TV.

I would suggest checking with Gregg Lowen or Michael TLV for a recommended (read: trusted professional, non Best Buy employee) ISF/THX calibrator in your area.
