I also made two requests, you can make up to five, for titles to be released onto Blu-ray.
I requested TRON and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Couldn't think of any others.
You should've asked for Song of the South, The Black Cauldron and The Hunchback of Notre Dame :). The last one will come out eventually, but the first two are movies that would only be released by pressure of the fans.

Re: Truman Show aspect ratio. I'm surprised Gary at DVD Beaver missed this. I usually rely on him for discs to avoid. Unfortunately I've already ordered it. I hope it doesn't annoy me too much.

Could you be more specific Bob, I just got Pinnochio, and only watched 15 mins so far, haven't noticed it yet. Hope its not too big a deal. Do you mean words of dialogue in the actual film missing?

DISCLAIMER: check Worth's post below, there is a strange cut in Poltergeist that has appeared in every home video release, and probably can't be helped anymore.
I hope this is not a general error but I had a glitch in my Poltergeist blu ray in Australia, where a skip would occur right at the point where the family go next door and ask their neighbours if they've noticed anything odd happening, and whether they've noticed a lot of mosquitoes. The scene right before this has the end cut off. (34m13s) Obviously this is only one disc, not sure if its a general problem, probably not.

Fascinating. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd read this, so I guess I'm glad I hadn't read it, because its so lush on blu.

I hope you're right, Travis, because I have a sneaking suspicion 1) there's evidence of digital glitching when it skips (glitching may not be the right word, but perhaps you know what I mean.) And 2) I've only ever seen this on home video, and I've seen the end of that scene before. They jumped over the part where the family come to the resolution that they can't decide whether its a supernatural presence or they're just high, so they go to ask the neighbours.
UPDATE: Just watching Poltergeist again and can confirm that its definitely odd. It cuts the mother off mid sentence. She's talking about how it feels to get pulled by the poltergeist across the floor of the kitchen, then, mid-sentence, it flashes a bit strangely and cuts to them knocking on the neighbour's door. The time code doesn't skip, it just proceeds normally.
Again, this is probably not the right forum for this, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a general issue with the release.

I can't remember whether or not it was in the theatrical release, but that odd edit has been in every video version of the film:

Thankyou so much, Worth. I think I should put a disclaimer at the top of my original post to note that the issue is definitely not a blu-ray specific problem. I can't believe I don't remember noticing this last time I saw it. I probably did notice it, I just saw it so long ago.
