I have Direct TV and I am looking at getting a Sony LCD Tv. It would be under 40 inches. What are the non HD channels going to look like on the TV. Will they be watchable?

Even VHS is watchable. Sure the stuff will be watchable, but it is going to be a GIGO affair.
