New Home theater Project

I am builing my third Home theater project.
It comes in replacement of the second which came in replacement of the first.

My first one was with a Phlips video projector in 97.
My second was with a Sharp MX20X
I am still undecided for the third but I am hesitating with 2 Panasonics the PTAX 200U or the PTAE3000U.

It is worth it to go with the 3000 versus the 200?
I am sure there is a difference with 1080P vs 720P but it is that much better?

One of the reason I may go with the 3000 is that I am planning to install a 1:2.4 screen (about 110" wide).

I will only watch movie and three times a week maximum (we have a large plasma in the house for TV).

Evidently I will change the DVD player for a blue ray.

For the sound I am down grading as my wife is tired about those huge colum fom Confluence. They make great sound but take a lot of room. So the new room will have in wall speaker.
So far I went to a couple of place to check for a subwoofer but I have been disapointed versus what I have now.
I am thinking to built my own subwoofer.

Your experience and feed back will be greatly appreciate.
