Hello all! This is my first post and I'd like to say that this looks like a great forum!

Anyway...

I just purchased a Mitsubishi WD-65736. The picture looks great to me, but the I am having some issues with the audio. I cannot get Dolby Digital 5.1 audio from the television's digital output with any HDMI source. I seems as if the television is decoding the audio, mixing it down, and will only output stereo PCM. I have configured the television to output to an A/V receiver and not through the internal speakers.

I have a Sony 400-disc DVD changer, an XBox 360, and a Samsung HDTV receiver... all with HDMI outputs. These are all capable of outputting Dolby Digital 5.1. I can get surround sound from these devices when I connect directly to my A/V receiver via optical or coaxial cables, but not when I connect with HDMI to the television. I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, but I cannot figure it out. My call to Mitsubishi wasn't very productive either.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
