Re: Time Warner Vs. Viacom goes nationwide..

Our Time Warner is still carrying all those channels. But there is a scroll saying they could be removed at midnight.

It appears it's just the scroll and the temporary loss of service was unconnected. But they are definitely getting word out.

Re: Time Warner Vs. Viacom goes nationwide..

We got the message last night that several of the channels listed above could be removed. There was also a phone number to call with the suggestion that we "Demand" that this not occur.

So how much is this agreement going to add to our cable bills?

Re: Time Warner Vs. Viacom goes nationwide..

It should be 30-40 cents, but maybe TWC uses this as an excuse for a larger rate hike.

Re: Time Warner Vs. Viacom goes nationwide..

I already got a brochure from Time Warner last week about rate hikes effective in February (about $8-10 for my service). Obviously, they're raising rates whether Viacom charged them more or not.
Does anyone even click on these "My Collection" links?

Re: Time Warner Vs. Viacom goes nationwide..

Just call Time Warner and ask for a lower rate. I've done that once a year for the past three years and each year they've given me a monthly discount on avereage of $25 per month (the biggest discount I got was $30 per month and the smallest $20 per month). I've save about $1,000 over the past 3 years doing that.
