Just got a BDP-550 and have a few questions

I have the 550 connected to my TV via HDMI and analogue outputs to my Receiver

The first question is the picture looks very grainy so to speak. Is there anyting I can do or is that how its supposed to be?

Secondly there seems to be very little coming from the rear speakers. when I press 'display' on the 550 remote, it says DTS-Master audio 2.1. I'm assuimg thats because I've got it hooked up with a HDMI to the tv but should it say 5/6 .1 ?

Re: Just got a BDP-550 and have a few questions

David:

I am not using HDMI, but the picture shouldn't look grainy, depending on the source. What disc are you playing?

Secondly, what are the audio settings you selected for the player?

Re: Just got a BDP-550 and have a few questions

I've tried Street kings, Dark night and terminator 2 and all are very grainy.

As for the sound options, I have:

Audio output priority: multi channel analogue
Speaker sizes and distances etc: all ok
Audio HDMI: auto
BD Audio: Direct
Autio ATT: Off
Dolby Digital: Dolby digital
DTS: DTS
AUDIO DRC: auto
Downmix: Normal

any ideas?

Re: Just got a BDP-550 and have a few questions

The audio settings seem fine. Depending on the source, you should be seeing either DTS-Master audio 3/2.1 or DTS-Master audio 3/4.1. Try hitting the display button and then changing the audio, and see what choices come up.
