hi...
my apologies if i'm in the wrong arena..i cud not find where to start a post..
i'm a newbie ...
i have sony str 985 av system connected to tv (cable tv) via rca.. a splitter is used to distribute video from cable provider,
the subwoofer output is connected to a qsc 850 rmx amplifier via rca to 1\4" jack...
i get terrible humm...is it safe to connect the electrical ground to the body of the splitter? by making this connection, the hum is significantly minimised almost nil..but i'm not sure if this will damage any equipment..
all my devices are connected to the same multi-plug outlet.
i do not want to break the ground prong from plug ..any help will do
thanks..
