Do I need special in-wall installation HDMI?

Hello!

I need to purchase a couple of HDMI cables, and one will be used to connect an 46" LCD wall-mounted to a Denon AVR 1909. I want to install the HDMI cable behind the dry wall. Do I need to purchase a special HDMI cable for that?

I see that Monoprice sells "in-wall installation" HDMI cables, but I am not sure why I need to pay more vs. getting a regular (cheaper) cable from them (as ling as I get enough lenght).

Thanks for your help!

Re: Do I need special in-wall installation HDMI?

Cables that are run in-wall need to be fire resistant in order to comply with building code. Monoprice cables are rated CL2 but some areas may require CL3 for in-wall installation and/or for going between downstairs and upstairs.
