I want to rip all my DVD's to a media server, I think, so I can just watch the movies from a harddrive and not worry about putting in DVD's. Is this what a media server does? I dont want one that u can load 200 dvd into.....I just want to play them off a harddrive. I hope I am in the right direction. thanks

Re: Media Servers

Yes, that is what a media server does. But that is as far as the discussion can go here. DVD's are copy protected and you have to break that protection to rip them. Defeating copy protection is a banned subject and has been since I joined.

That being said, I would rather store my video data on a regular server and stream it to a media player like the Popcorn Hour.

As noted, this topic cannot be pursued here. Please see HTF Rule 5.
Zoloft and Paxil and Buspar and Xanex, Depacon, Chronaphin, Ambien, Prozac,
Ativan calms me when I see the bills.
These are a few of my favorite pills.
