I am looking to get both my grandmother's a digital frame for Christmas. I want one that I can update remotely, is in a 4:3 ratio, and has a decent resolution. Any ideas?

Re: Digital Frames, need advice

Hi Ryan,
I bought my grandparents a Ceiva frame and they love it. They don't have Wi-Fi and wouldn't know how to work it or manage their photos themselves, so I do it with an online Ceiva account, which I setup myself. All they had to do was plug the frame into their phone line. I do pay a subscription fee to manage the frame remotely and get a Lifetime Warranty which may or may not come in handy depending on if they ever break it. I pay $9.95 per month, but you can pay less if you buy it in advance. I think it's well worth it to be able to manage the photos for them. Resolution is 800 x 600. Aspect ratio is 4:3.

Hope your grandparents love whatever frame you decide on!

Re: Digital Frames, need advice

I bought the two pack. Hopefully it works well. I like that they can invite others to send photos to the frame.

I looked at all the Kodak frames but they were all widescreen.

Re: Digital Frames, need advice

Hi Ryan,
I haven't had any problems, but I have called their customer service with some questions and they've been really helpful. They also have an online forum you can post questions to. I never have but I lurk sometimes to see what people are saying. Hope that helps if you have any issues that pop up.

Happy holidays!

Re: Digital Frames, need advice

I finally opened up the Cevia frame tonight to start setting it up. I am seeing my grandmothers on Sunday and Monday. After buying this frame on only a recommendation I am VERY impressed. It has a lot of features and great clarity and resolution. I'm thinking of ordering one for myself.

Re: Digital Frames, need advice

Hi Kyle,

Must have been confusing you with my friend Ryan Kyle. D'oh.

I'm so glad that you like it. I recently ordered two more myself actually. One for my husband and one for my m-i-l, who loves it. Set it up for her on Christmas Eve and was so happy when it connected and started showing all the pictures I put on it for her, including old photos of her that my husband retouched. It was the hit of the party.

Looking forward to hearing about your grandmothers' reaction!

Happy New Year to you and your family!
