Best speaker wire to use to connect?

Any suggestions on speaker wire...gauge, name brand ect. to use connecting Onkyo receiver, Mirage Speakers, Energy Sub. Does gauge make that much of a difference?
Any suggestions on cable to use from receiver to subwoofer? (rca connections) Are they all the same or not? Please advise. Thanks. Ron

You should go with 10AWG from Blue Jeans Cable. Others will add more replies to your question but the answers are similar. If you really have an high-end system with excellent speakers, doesn't matter which company you select, you should go with 10 AWG. Good luck

Gauge makes a difference, brand does not. How long are your speaker runs? 14 gauge will cover you for most situations. Check out Blue Jean Cables, Monoprice and Firefold for some good options.

On the sub cable, you just need a good RG6 cable or something similar. I use the LC1 cable from Blue Jean and have been pleased.

I use 12 gauge speaker cabling in my setup. Partsexpress.com used to sell it for about $0.33 per foot... but it's been a few years since I have purchased any speaker cable from them.

The speaker cable also depends on how long it is. For shorter distance about 20 f, 14 AWG will do, about 20-40f 12 awg will do. There is a chart but i can't seem to find it. If you call Blue Jeans Cable, they will be able to provide you a chart where you can decide which cable is appropriate based on the leangth to avoid any flaws...

I have purchased from monoprice.com and i have found them to be fantastic! cheap cheap cheap HDMI, Cat5\6 and stereo cables... check them out
