l'Homme de Rio (That man from Rio) on DVD?

Anyone knows if this movie -- starting Jean Paul Belmondo-- has ever been released on DVD any where?

I remember when I first saw Indiana Jones, my first thoughts were of this movie..... one I first watched in the theater when I was a kid..

Through the years I missed several cable TV showings, and to this day I still wonder how well it holds up...

MGM released the DVD in France:

Amazon.fr: Homme de rio: DVD

Man, saw that movie as a second run at a double feature at a third run Movie House a long time ago.

Isn't that funny - I'm watching it right now. Got it on eBay, an import from Russia - French with English subtitles, letterboxed at 1.66:1 but non-anamorphic. Transfer is a bit soft and color could be sharper but it's fun to have it and see it again. I love the film.

Thanks for the replies, Looks like the Russian version will have to do, as the French version is Pal -region 2 and without English or Spanish subs..

My french is very rusty but it looks like the reviewers are not very pleased with the French 2003 DVD version...

That Combo French DVD including the follow up "the tribulations of a Chinese in china" would've been a nice double feature......

Wonder why Criterion never looked into these flicks...

It's baffling that MGM/UA never issued this in the States on DVD - the film was a huge success here, at that time one of the highest grossing foreign films ever.

This and Le Magnifique are my two favorite Belmondo movies.
I don't think Le Magnifique has had an R1 release either. I own the French R2 release that has an English (and French, of course) soundtrack.

Le Magnifique did have a region one release - I own it - I think it was via Image.

I'm always surprised when people say "a la 007" - in what way? Belmondo's character isn't like James Bond in any way, shape, or form, there are no spies, no organizations - he's an innocent man thrust into having to perform like a hero - more like Hitchcock than Bond.

"That man from Rio " has played on TCM , if memory serves me right, in the last year or so.
