I normally go with the flow, and at the moment, just going through 2 seasons of 2 different shows, in addition to the few shows that I am following on broadcast TV.

And with finished shows (that are no longer on broadcast TV), I just watch 1 season per year.

That's the approach that I took with most of the current shows, mainly the ones where the DVDs have caught up with broadcast TV. It was getting to be too much for me to keep up a lot of shows.

Plus with the switchover to digital, which will make it impossible for me, to watch one and record another at the same time.

Re: 2009 TRACK THE TV EPISODES YOU WATCH

9 Jan 2009
17. Dark Shadows: Episode 193 (22 Mar 1967)

10 Jan 2009
18. Doctor Who: "The Trial of a Time Lord, Part Four" (27 Sep 1986)
19. The Beverly Hillbillies: "Jed Rescues Pearl" (2 Jan 1963)
20. The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet: "The Duenna" (6 Feb 1957)

11 Jan 2009
21. Doctor Who: "The Trial of a Time Lord, Part Five" (4 Oct 1986)

My tally.

Some thoughts on The Beverly Hillbillies... Rewatching the first season for the first time in years, I'm noticing things that completely went over my head as a child. First, this season is structured as a serial. Each episode picks up where the last one left off. This is unusual for sitcoms, and must have been practically revolutionary in 1962. Even I Love Lucy wasn't this unified. Also, the Clampetts have a dignity about them that anchors all the crazy goings on that surround them. Finally, this show must have been my earliest exposure to the existence of silent film, since they used it as a running gag about how backward it was up in the Ozarks. In fact, they used clips from The Eagle starring Rudolph Valentino and Vilma Banky in the episode I just watched.

I usually schedule one episode of a show one night a week, with the exception of Doctor Who and Dark Shadows, which I watch five nights a week. And I've built an elaborate color-coded spreadsheet to keep track of my TV viewing. But you're not seeing the results at the moment, because, after doing this for two years, I decided I needed a break. So my viewing is more random while I focus on some other, more important activities for a few weeks.

Re: 2009 TRACK THE TV EPISODES YOU WATCH

I finished up the final season of Babylon 5. There were some interesting aspects in the 2nd-half of the season. From Girabaldi and his drinking, the Londo storyline, to the very rewarding Finale. It was very interesting to jump ahead 20years in the finale. I don't want to mention to much, as i do not want to spoil it for anyone. I was just curious as you saw Girabaldi's kid, but why no mention of Sheridan/Delenn's child? I thought perhaps he may have been the one to deliver the telegram to Ivanova early on. But that is just a guess on my part. I don't think you could have really done a better finale, than they did here.

I see others are watching B5 aswell, I will definately revisit this show down the road. If anyone is yet to see this and likes good sci-fi / political drama. Then by all means check this one out. This may have surpassed DS9 for me, which has always been my favorite Trek show.

Kenneth,

Well, I am very biased, but would say a definite 'yes.' I have watched it since the late 1960s. I'm currently working my way through the DVDs now. I recently finished episode #55. I never tire of the show. There is much to love about it.

The purchase price can be quite steep, however. I belonged to the Dark Shadows DVD Club, at which time I received a volume every other month. The program is in b&w for a while, so if that is a concern, you ought to know about it. And the episodes are not pristine, although I find them very easy to watch (quality-wise).

6. Supernatural:Red Sky at Morning (S3; Ep6) (Very Good)

Speaking of Cheyenne, I really enjoyed Season one and really wish Warner Bros. would reconsider releasing further seasons.

I have 8 volumes of Dark Shadows and think it's a great low budget serial. Really spooky atmosphere.

As to my viewing habits...My wife and I watch seven shows a week together, one a night. We watch the show on the same night each week. I then do the same thing with a show for myself, and then I watch random stuff to appease my mood that night, or allow time to rewatch stuff, such as Babylon 5.

Re: 2009 TRACK THE TV EPISODES YOU WATCH

Adding to my previous post, there are times when I divide a season in half, just like some of the networks, watching the 1st half, a little break, then the rest later on. I guess this is to break the monotony.

Re: 2009 TRACK THE TV EPISODES YOU WATCH

I have been watching a little Family Ties: Season 4 today. I thought it worth mentioning the episode "My Tutor" as it guest stars a young River Phoenix as Alex's (Michael J. Fox) tutor in math. Whom is lonely and would trade anything just for a date. In walks Jennifer (Tina Yothers) and he is smitten with her right away. There is a slight problem as Jennfier wants nothing to do with him. So of course Alex pays off Jennifer to go out with him. It makes for some very awkward yet comedic moments. Well enough on the episode which was a pretty good one. I just wanted to say, It just reminds me how talented River Phoenix was and what a shame he had to die so young.

Yes Family Ties is the best sitcom of the 80's... Cheers a close second.
