Can Someone Help Me With a Laptop Recommendation

Hello Everyone.

Was looking to get a new laptop and since I'm sure there are people here who have kept up with the technology better than I have, I was hoping someone could help me. Looking for what the best I could get for about $1,200. Am looking for something with an approx 15 inch screen. Looking for speed, graphics and storage. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've had very good experience with the Fujitsu outlet store online. Fujitsu laptops are very nice.

Re: Can Someone Help Me With a Laptop Recommendation

I would look into the HP Pavilion line of laptops.

With your budget you should be able to obtain:
1. Quad-core processing
2. 17" 16:9 display
3. 3GB-4GB DRAM (Which you will need for 32 bit Vista SP1)
4. 320 - 640 GB hard drive
5. Optical drive with Blu-ray playback and DVD/CD recording
6. Integrated Webcam and microphone

If you don't need Blu-ray playback you can get all of the above for much less than a thousand dollars at this point.

Wow 17" screen - seems to me that would be an ENORMOUS laptop! Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

Re: Can Someone Help Me With a Laptop Recommendation

17" isn't too large, but they don't call them laptops at that point. They're called notebooks. Basically they're portable desktops.

My 17" isn't exactly fun to travel with, but if you don't need to move it around a lot, it's nice to have a big screen (especially for graphics work).

Will, if you ever decide on a Dell, check out these coupons: Dell Coupons, Codes & Deals

When I bought my notebook, I configured a $2,000+ Inspiron system (basically maxed everything out) and used an $800 coupon through couponmountian.

The coupons aren't as great as they used to be, but if you check often, you may come across something worth while.

$1,299 is "about $1,200" and 13" is "approx 15".

Get a MacBook.
