Extend Xantech IR Reciver

I just purchased the Xantech 291 Kit to manage my IR devices in a closet

http://www.xantech.com/manuals/291KIT.pdf

I would like to put the extender next to my TV which is on the other side of the room. I have CAT 5 run from the closet to the TV and from the manual and Xantech support site I can extend the receiver using it..

My question is, beyond splicing the cable and mapping the correct wires to their destinations on the receiver side, is there a way to use a female 1/8" jack (from radioshack) to plug in and then run that to the Cat 5?

This is a basic outline of what I would like to do - How do I know what wires run to which parts of the female jack?

[RECEIVER] ===> }====== ---------- [Connecting Block]
1/8" Jack 1/8" Female Jack Cat 5

Thanks for any assistance-

Re: Extend Xantech IR Reciver

Not sure I get what you're asking. Are you trying to use Cat-5 cable with 1/8 plugs and jacks? i.e., Cat 5 with male and female 1/8" on each end?
