The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 11-25-2008

I'll be picking up 24: Redemption.

I picked up the Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray disc at Target this morning. It's not my favorite Disney movie but I had been waiting for a sale so I figured it was as good of a time as any.

Thanks for the prices, guys!

EDIT: Mike, according to their site, Best Buy's sale prices on the Hall & Oates DVD is $12.99 and the Blu-ray is $19.99. I'm buying the DVD as a Christmas gift.

A slow week for me however.....

I did find The Goonies [Blu-ray] and Zodiac (Directors Cut) [Blu-ray] both listed for release this week at Amazon. Are these legit? The releasing studio is 101 Distributions which sounds fishy to me.

DVD & Blu-ray - It's all about the movies!

You ain't the only one.....they had those types of pages with the infamous MASH set. Quite a few of the discs in my set were so scratched to hell that I had to get a replacement from Amazon. Even with that, I still have scratched ones....they still play, thankfully. But I am leary whenever they have sets that use them.

Anyway, for me this week it will be Hancock and The Kingdom on Blu-ray.
Recently watched- The Mummy(1999)[BD], The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe[BD], You Don't Mess With The Zohan[BD], Patriot Games, Groundhog Day[BD]

Currently watching- Heroes: Season 1[BD], SNL 1976-1977: Season 2, Rome: The Complete Series[BD]

My guess is that they're imports (like when Almost Famous was on Amazon a few weeks ago). I'm pretty sure that The Goonies doesn't have a North American release scheduled so the import is your only choice right now but Zodiac is coming out on Blu-ray on January 27.

After all the frustration you've read in these pages, Greg?!? Don't know if it would still be worth it! I, however, DO wonder what it would be like to have a Fry's nearby...

===============================

By the way, I'd like to point out that the powers-that-be (namely Ron Epstein and Parker Clack) have set aside a portion of the HTF's "Portal Page" to promote the Weekly RoundUp. There is an explanation of what goes on in here and they will be updating the link to each week's RoundUp.

This may lead to some increased traffic and some new souls stopping by. So, if you all wouldn't mind wiping your feet and combing your hair. Company's coming!

Sure thing! It must be a weird BB website glitch because when I typed in 'Hall Oates', Live At The Troubador would come up but when I typed in 'Hall And Oates' or 'Hall & Oates', it wouldn't come up.

And for the record, I do look like Brad Pitt. He's the fat guy who is the lead in Knocked Up, right?

Wow. The prices I've seen on TV sets recently have made it painfully obvious to me that it's going to have to be an extreme case for me to spend big bucks on any new release set when you can be pretty sure the prices are going to plummet months later.

Pricing for TV shows on DVD have definitely plummeted these days although I'm not a fan of buying such in general (outside of a few exceptional cases). Still, it makes me a little reluctant to want to take the plunge on something like the Firefly BD set at the ~$43 sale price from Deep Discount even though I don't already own the DVD set.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 11-25-2008

I'll be getting Hankcock BD and probably 24 Redemption this week. Eventually, I'll get Kingdom BD and if it ever gets cheap enlough the BNL concert BD (but my DVD of it is fine for now). If Universal didn't screw up the Jarhead BD, I'd get that too but I'll be sticking with my HD DVD for that.
Does anyone even click on these "My Collection" links?
