Yamaha RX-V463 Remote Problem

I have a Yamaha RX-V463 Receiver/Home theater and have solved most of my problems except using the remote to control other devices. I get an "OK" when inputing the code for the HDTV, but the remote does not turn on the TV. Anyone else had this problem?
