I just switched from Direct TV to Fios and I'm having trouble with my component output. My set up is as follows:
TV-couple year old JVC 32" tube with component, composite and S-video inputs
HD receiver QIP 6416
Receiver-Yamaha RX-V863
DVD-Panasonic combo VHS/DVD recorder
Speakers-fronts PSB alphas, rears definitive tech, sub mirage
Cable set-up
DVR to receiver with S-video (component gives blue screen) and digital audio cable
DVD to receiver with component and digital audio cable
Receiver to TV with component cables only
When I switched the DVR to the component cables instead of the S-video I get a blue screen.
The tech has come out twice. The first time he went through some kind of set up on the dvr and plugged in the components and it worked until about an hour after he left when I switched channels on the DVR and got a blue screen again. He came out again to today and switched the set top box with same result. He claims it's related to me running the component through the receiver. I'm not sure why I was able to do this with my DVD player with no issues for the last year, but not with DVR?
Any help would be appreciated.
