Pioneer 1014x Keeps shutting off..

Hey guys

Tonight i went to watch a movie and can only get like 10 minutes into the movie without my receiver (Pioneer 1014) turning itself off.

I have had this same setup for about 4 years now, i have not made any wiring changes or speaker changes, Its wired to a monster hts-1600 surge protector, it has never given me any problems before tonight. Any clues as to why this is happening?
I was thinking maybe a randomly miswired speaker, overheating.(Also well ventillated area.)

Thanks for any info!

Re: Pioneer 1014x Keeps shutting off..

check both ends of your speaker cable runs. maybe there is a place where positive is shorting out on the negative and your amp is going into a self-protect mode.

Re: Pioneer 1014x Keeps shutting off..

Okay well I seemed to have found and "fixed" the problem.

I had a movie on that was in 5.1 surround and my amp was set to 7ch Stereo (from listening to a cd earlier) , and apparently when I have it in 7ch stereo it will automatically shut off when watching a move for some random reason that I really don't understand.
I once i put it in 5.1 it stayed on and played perfectly.. anyone have any ideas why this happens?
