Panasonic Electronics is offering the DMP-BD35K Blu-ray player for $299.95 — among the lowest listed retail prices for a Profile 2.0 Web-enabled unit.

The player originally fetched $399.95.

When purchased online at Panasonic.com, the unit includes two free mail-in Blu-ray movies: Ratatouille and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, both from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Amazon.com features the DMP-BD35K for $271.76, which includes free shipping but no movies.

Similarly priced Blu-ray players from Samsung (BDP-1500) and Sony (BDP-S350) require free firmware upgrades.

Circuit City is offering the Panasonic player at the identical price with $5 off titles National Treasure, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.

Old news, very old news.

And I don't recall ever seeing it for more than $299 when it was finally available.

Re: Panasonic DMP-BD35K for $299.95

Actually, it was posted as $399 when first available, but the price was dropped $100 for it and $100 for the BD55, which is now $399(or as low as $344 on Amazon), shortly after they came out. Sound & Vision magazine & Home Theater magazine are just now publishing this information. So, to some, its not old news.

Yeah, but considering right below it is a big thread on that player, it's old news.
