I just subscribed to this thread recently as I was given an iPod for a recent birthday. I've never downloaded tunes as I've been mostly off-loading music from my rather substantial CD collection.

But...a bargains a bargain and I thought I would consider branching out and trying some new stuff. Which brings me to this post...

I just clicked your link on the Rascal Flats download and I see $4.99. Is that a special price for old guys like me who've never downloaded music over the internet before?!? Or, is amazon hiring people from Best Buy to screen potential customers?

Wow! I get Mike Frezon to post in MY thread! I've MADE it!

It is showing $4.99 at this point...considering it's been so long since I did the original post (and not being a title I would buy) I don't know if it changed or if I posted it incorrectly.

So, other than Diana Krall and Rascal Flatts, I'm not sure what you listen to (or how adventurous your musical tastes run). I love to check out the free samplers Amazon offers (usually one or two a week are posted); they generally spotlight an indie label or style of music and can have some great hidden gems!

And welcome to the thread!

No Rascal Flatts for me. I didn't like what I heard on the amazon samples.

Lester Flatts....maybe.

But, seriously, this is a very cool thread to be constantly updating these deals. I'm sure I'll pick up on something soon.

If you aren't familiar with Madeleine Peyroux, take a listen to her. I discovered her recently through the last.fm music service. Her album Careless Love is amazing, and the new one on the $5 Friday deal is getting some good reviews. I'm debating whether to buy the download or purchase the disc though.
