Home theater connection problems.

Home theater connection problems.

I recently purchased an LG LCD TV (model number 42LG30) and a Panasonic home theater (model number SC-PT760). The only cable from the TV to the Panasonic receiver is an HDMI cable. When I watch a DVD I change the input to the TV to “HDMI” – all works great. Then I shut the TV off. When I want to listen to a CD, the CD plays through the right and left home theater speakers OK – but the TV comes on!! The TV screen flashes “NO SIGNAL” at various places around the screen while the CD plays. When I shut the TV off, using its’ remote – the Panasonic receiver shuts off as well!!! Question: How can I listen to a CD without the TV turned on? And, why does the TV come on when I only turned the Panasonic receiver on to listen to the CD?
Please help. Thank you.

Re: Home theater connection problems.

In the Panasonics set-up menu, is there a way to link devices? Sometimes you can set-up different components to come on all at once (i.e. anynet+ or macro). If such a feature exsists you need to deactivate it and the problem you're having should be resolved.
