Posting funny pictures is one of the time-honored traditions of teh interweb, so it's a little odd that it hasn't happened much here. I'll start and see if anyone wants to follow suit.



The following is billed as "ad placement FAIL." I don't know if it's real, or if it's real, I don't know if they tore out pages to make it happen. I'll spoiler it since it's sort of inappropriate:

Here's a current events one...

Also, I saw one of old Eddie Van Halen standing next to a hutch with a picture of young Eddie Van Halen hanging on the wall behind him. He looked like a crazed maniac. I wish I could find it again.

I think it's because the people are in the exact same pose. And the guy with the clipboard is the same guy.

Supposedly, if you see her spinning clockwise, you are using your right brain. If you see her spinning counterclockwise, you are using your left brain. The first time I saw it, I saw counter. Now, I'm seeing clockwise.

I have a problem. I first see her going counter-clockwise, then it snaps to clockwise. Later, it snaps back to counter-clockwise, and again to clockwise!

Same here! And what's more annoying - I can't make it switch using conscious thought.

That "moving" graphic up above it interesting too.

I'm starting to think HTF is just a cover for mind control experiments. I mean really, who would by into Blu-Ray otherwise?!

I see her moving clockwise. I've stared at that for a long time, and for the life of me can't see her moving counter clockwise.

I guess I'm thinking logically right now, because she's spinning counter. It has been said that if you focus on the feet, you can change the direction. It worked for me the other day, but not earlier today.

EDIT: The feet tricked worked just now!

That worked for me Greg. Actually, I had to cover her entire body with my hand except for her lower foot. Once I did that, I could force myself to see her foot spinning counter. Then after removing my hand I could see her whole body spin counter.

Unfortunately, I couldn't hold it very long. It lasted for about 2 spins, then reverted to clockwise.

On first look I could see counter clockwise, but then focused on the leg and could see clockwise. Interesting effect.

I could see the counterclockwise movement if I look away from the spinning figure and let my periphreral vision do the work.

No matter what I do, I can't see her going counter-clockwise. The right side of her body is leading the spin, coming towards the viewer from the right side of the screen, then going away from the viewer on the left side. That's clockwise in my book, unless she's on a glass floor and I'm underneath looking up (in which case I'm mightily distracted...)

cover up her body so you can only see the bottom foot, and unfocus your eyes, it will start going counter, then you can see her whole body spinning left. Works for me, then mid spin she will start sprinning clockwise again.

It's like looking at a spinning wheel or fan blade and it appears to be turning backwards.

when she's clockwise, her right leg is lifted.
when she's counter, her left leg is lifted.
