Re: Family Guy Season Seven
FOX-y LadyAnother lame ass episode.
I laughed once, and that was at the Ann Coulter frigid joke.
The Peter and Chris walking out of the room to talk in private joke, repeated and got old fast.
Very stale episode.

| WillG - Due to the nature of tonight's episode, I can't elaborate too much on my thoughts. But my bottom line opinion, it that this is another example of how McFarlane is a thought bully. While I certainly have my criticisms of the subject of this episode, this one still seemed especially condescending. |

Look, McFarlane has every right to his opinions, but sometimes I find the way he presents them is very condescending to people who might not think the way he does. He basically called people who think differently from him on the subject of this episode stupid.
There was another episode in which he (thorough his mouthpiece, Brian) pretty much called a person on an opposing side from him on another controversial issue a c**t. It just makes him, to me, come off as a jerk. To me, South Park does a much better job at this sort of thing. Matt and Trey certainly have their opinions, but usually they're either respectful to the other other side, or they make fun of both sides equally. |
If there be one of them who does not follow the way of the Snitzil, let that one go and do not throw bowling balls at them.

Yeah, I think i've finally had enough of McFarlane, i'm bowing out until the Star Wars episode. I will say this, though, all the Star Trek stuff and Peter throwing the soup and milk at Meg was funny, I want more of that. BTW, with the way the jokes have been falling flat this season I wouldn't call encouraging people to change the channel a smart move on Seth's part lol. |

| I'm not a family guy viewer but I usually catch some of these parady shows and this one was pretty funny, but isn't the entire point of this show to offend, so why would anyone watch it if they did'nt want to be offended, I've screened a few eps here and there and there was quite a few pokes at other religions in this series, why would it only offend you if it's your religion? Anyhow as I said I'm not a fan, but just a casual observation. |

At least when "Futurama" reunited the cast of the original Star Trek, they came up with a lot of clever inside jokes for the fans, like William Shatner lampooning his own karaoke stylings, Leonard Nimoy casually repeating his "Wrath of Khan" final scene dialogue, Walter Koenig being annoyed about "nuclear wessels", and Uhura's fan dance.
The closest we got here was Denise Crosby getting killed off immediately and Patrick Stewart bullying Wil Wheaton, which I guess is kind of a reference to how Picard originally couldn't stand Wesley. Oh well, at least it was nice to hear the voices of people like Sirtis and McFadden again. The others barely had any lines (weird to see "Data" being the one who gets shortsighted in terms of number of lines compared to the rest of the cast for once), and the novelty of hearing Patrick Stewart doing comedic voiceover in animation wore off long ago after his brilliant performance on The Simpsons in the '90s and his many guest spots (as a semi-regular) on "American Dad". |
