galcon - very cool game.
cro mag rally - i've tried asphalt and cro mag, this is by far the better/funner driving game. very drift-oriented
ireact - fun group/drinking game
papi-jump - best free game
koi pond - great screensaver type app

Re: favourite ipod touch / iphone apps

OK the ones I have so far;

Pandora: Free on-line radio Ap

Shazam: Free Ap; This one is cool. It will listen to a bit of a song playing anywhere and then tell you the name & artist information. If there is a video on YouTube you will get a link so that you can watch the video.

Tap Tap Revenge: Free game that is sorta like Guiter Hero for your iPhone/iTouch

Stanza: Free Ap; Book reader with access to public domain books (Free books)

Sportacular: Free Ap; This one tracks all kinds of sports scores, stats, schedules etc.

Bloomberg: Free Ap; this is a stock market ap that give all kinds of information related to all markets, stocks, commodities, currencies, and bond markets. Also has news reports and other nice market related features all for free.

TWC (The Weather Channel): Free Ap; nice ap for checking the weather. I Like to access to the video forcast you get here.

Topple: I think I paid for this one; Pretty fun game that is a spin on Tetris but very different.

OK that what I've got.

Remote is an exelent program. It only needs cover flow, otherwise perfect. I now have a cheap multi-room control of the music in the house!

Re: favourite ipod touch / iphone apps

Does the same apps (especially games) that work for iPhone also work for iPod Touch?

Rewind - DVDcompare/Site Administrator
*US PS3 (1080p) - Xbox 360 Elite (HDMI) - Nintendo Wii (Euro) - Sony PSP-2000 - Nintendo DSi
*HD DVD Toshiba XE1 (1080p) - Sony Bravia KDL-40W2000 (1080p) - Yamaha RX-V1800 (HDMI 1.3)

So far, my answer is yes. Everything I've tried (admittedly only 20 apps or so) has worked all around- Touch v1, Touch v2, Iphone 3G (we have all three in the house).

Obviously, I need to try a lot more.

Re: favourite ipod touch / iphone apps

Some apps do need internet access (or similar) to work properly. For those, you'll need your iPod Touch to have WiFi access when you use them. Also, it's possible that they might not behave as reliability on the iPod Touch -- depends on exactly how they are implemented. There are probably also some apps that are designed specifically for phone use, and obviously, those wouldn't be useful on the iPod Touch.

Personally, I'm still waiting for Apple to fix their audio dropout problem w/ their Apple Lossless format -- there seems to be no acknowledgement and/or expected fix so far.

Apparently, this has been fixed in the last minor revision v2.2.1 of the software back in late-Jan/early-Feb. I just hadn't realized it until today (when I googled the issue again due to all the preview info about the upcoming new v3 software).

Re: favourite ipod touch / iphone apps

Some of the apps I like:

* The already mentioned Pandora, Sportacular, and Koi Pond apps.

* Kindle for iPhone -- Read all of the Kindle books on the iPhone! Also, if you own a Kindle you can read the same book on both devices and the application will keep up with where you stopped reading -- independent of the device! For example, you can read a book up to page 23 on the Kindle, and then if you start reading the same book on the iPhone it will start up at page 23! Great stuff!!

Vlingo -- This is a voice-recognition front end application for the iPhone that actually works! Say "Search Abraham Lincoln" and the program will search for "Abraham Lincoln" references on Google. Say "Call Tom" and the application will take you to the first "Tom" it finds in your Contacts. If Tom only has one phone number stored, it will even initiate the call. Say "Find Best Buy" and the Google Maps application pops up with pins to the Best Buy stores near your current location.

WunderRadio -- Provides easy access to about 80% of all the AM/FM radios in the country!

Re: favourite ipod touch / iphone apps

Anyone use a dvd/movies app? I was looking at DVD Dashboard but it seems lacking in some basic things, with only title & genre listings.
