Well Micheal C Hall should've won, But Bryan Cranston would've gotten my second vote. Especially if it gets Breaking Bad back on the air, what a great show. Cranston spoke like it's still happenning, anyone know? And Mary Louise Parker got robbed.

I love how they are making the nominees in the Reality TV host category until after the commerical break to reveal who won the Emmy for that category.There are so many worthy nominees this year, it's almost a toss-up as to who manages to squeak by with the votes in the main categories. I can't really say anyone got robbed, and it is actually an honor just to be a nominees in their respective categories.
But kudos to Matthew Weiner for his win for writing the pilot episode of "Mad Men".

Both "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" on AMC are not ratings darlings, but they both offer compelling dramas to people tired of the cookie-cutter dramas that litter the TV landscape from most of the major networks. Both shows feature excellent writing and acting. "Mad Men" is a show you can watch numerous times and get something out of each viewing, that's a rare feat in today's TV milieu.Also glad that "Damages" got some love as well.
Let's just hope "30 Rock" doesn't go the way of "Arrested Development" and get canned after 3 seasons due to low ratings.

I'm pleased that Madmen and 30 Rock won the "best of" in their respective categories. Both programs are most deserving IMO. That said, this was a real stinkeroo of an awards show! It amazes me how year after year the EMMYS honestly seem to get WORSE than the year before. I also find it astonishing how four out of every five years, the Academy Awards telecast wins an EMMY. How embarrassing... and sad. Is this the best that television can do when it comes to recognizing and celebrating their own? I mean really...Gary

Loved the bit with Gervais and Carell. The two funniest guys in comedy right now IMHO and I really hope they do something together in the future(especially if it would involve Ricky showing up on The Office). The other highlight of the night was Rickles. He was hilarious and very deserving of his award as that HBO special was great. The rest of the show pretty much sucked. The five hosts thing was a COMPLETE DISASTER and whoever came up with that idea should be on the unemployment line this morning."If you're good at something, never do it for free."

I think Jimmy Kimmel is hilarious and while I do think he would be a funny host, I doubt they would ever pick him for the job as he would piss off too many people with his somewhat antagonistic sense of humor.By the way, I loved how Jeremy Piven took a shot at the horrible opening in his acceptance speech. I think he spoke for everyone watching that train wreck.

I came home late so I haven't watched the first hour yet, but I was happy that the first thing I saw was a medley of TV Show Theme Songs. Of course this should be mandatory every year.It was nice to hear one of my favourite lines mentioned, "Never go with a hippie to a second location."
Regarding the director: I personally would NOT choose to do the following: bring America Fererra and Miss America on stage, show them briefly in a long shot, then cut to the nominee sequence, then, instead of returning to a close-up of the presenters, do a sweeping shot of the audience as the winner's name is read off-camera and then finally cut back to the stage, after one of the stars has already walked out of frame and the other has her back to the camera.
Vanessa Williams needn't have bothered putting on any make-up for that "appearance"

I disagree. I felt that halfway through the medley, I was ready for it to be over. It was interesting at first but after a while it was getting old real fast. I feel that all musical numbers should be banned from award shows unless they are nominated for an award or, you know, on the Grammy's. But that is just me.

Unless I missed it..I didn't see the usual "In Memorium" segment.The "Laugh In" segment was awful!!! Allan Sues looked like he was brought back from the dead. Not funny at all.
Don Rickles was as spot on as he could be given the environ.
Overall...forgettable.

My favorite part of the show was Don Rickles,the guy still has it. I thought Josh Grobin did a pretty good job at what he was given,and it looked like he was enjoying himself. Can someone please tell me why these Hollywood elites continue to use these awards shows to voice their political views down our throats. I feel like telling them to shut up and act! I was disappointed that "The Office" and "Pushing Daisies" didn't win more awards.

Yep, you missed the "In Memorium" segment.
Allan Sues is 82 and is one of those many folks who I wonder, "How are they making it now?"
His high point was 40 years ago. Over the last 30 years he's had about 5 small acting gigs per year.
No wonder he was thin as a rail.
Missed a cue (ringing a bell) and then had to be fed his next line.
Where was Goldie? Not up for a bikini appearance I guess.

Admittedly I did'nt see much of the show but What I did see seemed pretty restrained. I Missed the Smothers brothers speech. I guess they see it as freedom of speech would be my guess or an opinion.. probably the same reasom why Karl Rove can run the Republican Campaign and be a Fox news Commentator at the same time. Just an observation.. not a political statement...
