Re: The Dark Knight Specs
Anyone think Warner would skimp on what could possibly the biggest title ever to hit DVD or Blu-ray, and not put TrueHD audio?

Re: The Dark Knight Specs
It's their biggest grossing film of the year, hands down, and will sell like hotcakes on BD. I seriously doubt this won't include lossless.

Re: The Dark Knight Specs
Personally, I'd be a little disappointed if the lion's share of bonus features ended up being those specials from The History Channel. I'm much more interested in seeing a documentary about the actual making of TDK with insight on the production from cast and crew. Hopefully that report isn't true and those are not the actual special features on the Blu-Ray/DVD.

If this doesn't offer lossless audio, I will strip naked and kiss a pigs ass in the town square.

Warners lack of lossless audio on some releases seems to be more of a practical issue than anything else. Knowing that some of their releases will have to be on BD25 (because of limited BD50 reproduction ability) They have to decide if picture quality will suffer to include lossless audio. They seem to have chosen picture quality in these instances.
They have to save their BD50 slots for their really big films, Speed Racer isn't one of those, but The Dark Knight is.

Re: The Dark Knight Specs
If this cover is real then those specs that were originally posted are indeed correct. The special features are VERY disappointing(no need to see those History Channel docs again), but the movie was so damn good that I can forgive the lack of good bonus material. Shame there isn't a tribute to Ledger or anything that focuses on his brilliant work in the film.

Um, that's why I said "if this cover is real". Just posting what I found on another forum.

Re: The Dark Knight Specs
So, I read on TheDigitalBits.com that the BD of The Dark Knight will be the IMAX version... "For the Blu-ray Disc however, while most of the film will also be presented in the 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen ratio, the scenes that were specifically shot in IMAX format will be presented at 1.78:1, which will fill the frame and will thus recreate the IMAX experience at home. This is not via seamless branching (you can't turn it off)."
Why does this bother me? Because I zoom the 2.40:1 image from my projector to fill my 2.35:1 screen. The 1.78:1 image will be outside of my screen dimensions. This sucks for me and anybody else with this screen setup. I will probably have to settle for the SD version of this movie!
This should have been done by seamless branching....
