Amazon has a listing up for what looks to be like the original 1951 version of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" from Fox:

It makes sense to tie it in with the December 12 release of the remake (which looks awful, IMO). If this is true, I'm all over it!

I was hoping that Fox would do this when they announced the SD DVD SE. It looks like the MSRP is $5 lower than their usual $39.99

Yeah, not a BIG fan of Hollywood remakes.
However, if its going to get us the original released on HD... ;-)

No 20 Million Miles to Earth? No Good Night and Good Luck? I have both, and they look stunning. A well-handled B&W film in HD is truly something beautiful to behold. Oh, and I also have The Seventh Seal (import).
