I just took that for what it was: A "Kill Bill" moment!

Seriously, if they wipe that family out in the elevator it would needlessly draw attention to the office building the child psychologist works in. It was in both of their interests to be as covert as possible while in that building.

Making a big spectacle in the past would call attention to robots, which would be a big negative for SkyNet; and it would draw a giant red "X" on where John Conner likely is, a major problem for Sexbot.

Making a big spectacle by killing humans as opposed to the big fight that was already going on in the elevator? In fact, killing the family likely wouldn't have been a spectacle at all as the terminator wouldn''t have been there and it's not like there were elevator cams for "footage at 11." I've never seen any indication in the movies that terminators care about exposure. They fight right out in the open daylight from the very first movie. If exposing them would stop SkyNET, Sarah and John would just take Fembot on TV and expose the whole sordid affair.

As for painting a big red X, SkyNET already generally knows where John is. That's why everything keeps being sent back to LA as if the rest of the world doesn't exist. BTW, Uncle's girl didn't have any trouble finding him at all.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. First thing that really bothered me in the show, but hopefully there won't be too many more like that for me.

Except than when have Terminators EVER been subtle? Ah-nold starts shooting up a nightclub, engages in a high speed persuit, and ravages a police station. The T1K blasts through downtown LA at 90 miles an hour in a ginormous truck, while the T3 terminator destroys 10 miles of road with a crane. These actions dont exactly say "stealth machines" here - clearly they dont care about the timeline, property damage or bystanders.

The Supertemp was - assuming that it managed to beat Sexbot, mind you - was 30 seconds away from it's target, who had no clue whatsoever that death was coming. Continuing the fight would have in no way endangered the mission - and clearly would have given it the advantage over Sexbot, since she DOES have a prime directive not to harm bystanders.

Why? Pretty much the same reason that I've been watching the Clone Wars, even tho it's unbelieveably dreadful - I'm a huge fan of the franchise. Hell, even T3 didnt bug me all that much. So I keep watching the vain hope that they'll get their shit together. (This inability to get their shit together doesnt bode well for T4 either. But then what the hell would you expect from a grown man who calls himself McG).

I don't like the calling of Cameron the "sexbot". It seems more sexist than usual since she's never had sex with anyone. It's just calling her a "sexbot" because the viewer finds her attractive -- which is a creepy way of expressing approval.

Here's what I had to say about that once upon a time:

I don't particularly like the Sexbot epithet. I think it does both Summer and the show a disservice. She's been played with more depth than that would suggest, and perhaps more depth than any other terminator we've yet seen.

It's this sort of level-headed sensibility that sets this place apart from places like IMDB and I for one couldn't find more comfort in that if I tried.

But then again how does one account for the Blondes, Brunettes and Redheads threads?

I wonder if the CEO Terminator is trying to create a Skynet with emotions.

Bring back John Doe! Or at least resolve the cliff-hanger with a 2hr movie or as an extra on a dvd release.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

Ok, here's my thought on this, and what was bothering me about that episode. A terminator was supposedly sent back to kill the psychiatrist. However, evil CEO needs him to help fix whatever is wrong with Skynet.

So, why kill him? They need him.

I don't think Skynet sent the terminator back. I think she was sent back by someone else to stop the psychiatrist. Which might explain the odd behavior of stopping the fight when a child was present.

But then again, maybe I'm giving the show writers too much credit.

I'm wondering if the Garbagebot was sent back by the human-sympathizing fraction that Cameron represented before John Connor reprogrammed her.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

Nah. The liquid terminator is bad news. She and Skynet don't seem to share the same agenda, but they are both evil. I took from the Allison episode that there isn't a human-sympathizing faction. They were lying to her to trick her.

It would be highly interesting if Future John sent a terminator back to kill somebody, though. It would be adopting the exact methods of Skynet. Then again, Sarah already tried that with Dyson and the creator of the Turk.

Re: "TERMINATOR: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" Season 2 Thread

I can't even guess what the contortionist terminator's motives were. However, we do not know that she was there to kill the psychiatrist.

She could have been there for another reason. Perhaps she was there to kill the Irish Terminator's daughter, by becoming the worst administrative assistant in history, and waiting until the daughter arrived.

Reason being, to keep the Irish Terminator from developing empathy for the humans (which is a risk, as she learns to fool the daughter into thinking she is human).

Thus, a way to keep the Irish Terminator focused on building Skynet.

However, if the Irish Terminator needs to be re-focused on building Skynet, it brings up the unpleasant possibility that the Irish Terminator will not remain a bad-guy. I dislike this because she is so unpleasant that she'll be better as a bad guy.

I actually meant that anyone reading that post should replace the word Irish with the word Scottish. I can see how that would be confusing though!

She sounds like Bono, that's all I know.

I'll call her by her name if I ever catch it.

And as to what to call Cameron that won't upset people, how about Cameron?

Except Bono is Irish and Shirley Manson is Scottish. I guess it's a bit like the difference between American and Canadian, or Australian and New Zealander. The difference is subtle or non-existent if you live nowhere near those places, but is otherwise massive.

Greetings

And what exactly is the American accent? The one spoken in New York? New England? The South? Texas? California? Minnesota?

Canadian English accents tend to sound more homogenous from BC all the way to the Quebec border. Get into the maritime provinces and you run into the maritime accents and Newfoundland Accents.

I'm glad Derek finally called John out on acting like a kid. I'm sure it must be very jarring to him to know both future leader John and this one. That being said I don't think he's acting too unreasonable now. I feel like also the reemergence of the Terminator at his house will wake him up a little. Or at least, I hope so.

WTH? This came on today? Idiot DVR. Don't tell me PB&J came on, too. The DVR had a three hour block of Access Hollywood listed for today. I thought that was weird. I should have known it was an error.

Yeah. I'm having to watch them online.

Cameron's killing of the punks surprised an "Oh, f---!" out of me. Her method was proven correct there at the end.

There should have been some explanation as to how Cromartie's computer picked up the picture and credit card hit instantly.

Am I the only one who finds the Scottish terminatrix to be very unattractive? She is definitely no Kristanna Lokan.

On a more constructive note. I am starting to get bored with the show. Which bums me out since I want to like it.
