The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Mike, I'm seeing the Kill Bill 1 and 2 at Amazon as being 39.99, not 30.99.

Mike, Thanks for the roundup as always, but I think you still have a typo, you have Kill Bill V2 for 30.99 at Amazon.

Anyway, just Child's Play (would be nice to have on BD, but you can't go wrong for the ten bucks at Best Buy) and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Season 3 (Which BTW, if you're looking for a hilarious blind buy, pick up the first release)

Won't buy any more Kill Bill releases until "The Whole Bloody Affair" comes out. Same goes for Grindhouse.

Thanks, Will. Fixed.

However, that one was NOT a typo. It was posted at $30.95 for Vol. 2 just a couple days ago. I double-checked it...seeing as how Vol. 1 was $23.95. Guess they changed it.

Wow, is Best Buy's price for Essential Art House – Vol. 1 (CC) really $59.95? It's really tempting at that price point.

Despite already owning three copies (two DVD, one HD DVD) of The Big Lebowski, I'm still contemplating picking up the new 10th Anniversay Edition as well.

Gee, Dennis! Good catch! I don't know how you found that. Costco didn't list any HTWWW in their "coming/new releases" section. That's where I usually look.

I also now found a price of $28.99 on the HTWWW Ult CE (3-disc) set @ Costco.

Pretty big week this week. I've already received the Cool Hand Luke BD from. Child's Play SE (finally!) and HTWWW BD are on their way to me. I'm still debating whether to get the Kill Bill BD 2-pack at Amazon. Down the road, I'll probably get the Rudy BD (and maybe Jerry Maguire), but not until it's cheaper.
Does anyone even click on these "My Collection" links?

Re: Weekly RoundUp 9-9-2008

Thanks guys!

There are a few TV on DVD titles I want, but I am going to wait since none of the launch week pricing is particularly compelling. Maybe it's just me, but I am having a hard time cost justifying full season retail for these shortened season sets. I don't care how many extras they throw in, a 15 or 16 season set should not retail for the same price as a full 22-23 episode set. As always, YMMV, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Since I unloaded my original The Big Lebowski several years ago, I will pick up the new (sans bowling ball) special edition. Otherwise, that's it for me this week.

Just to note - in the Roundup, both Kill Bill blus are listed as $24.99 at Best Buy.

In my area (Boston MA) that would be the going rate if you bought both for the $10 discount. In our weekly ad, BB's price for each is $29.99.

Re: Weekly RoundUp 9-9-2008

Thanks for the heads up. It's the same in my area - Oregon.

Well, that saves me a trip at least.

Actually, Cameron - I figured it out. If you put the Kill Bill blus in your cart at Bestbuy.com, they come up as $24.99 each. Put both in and you get the $10 off - total $39.98 & tax.

If you select store pick-up, you can go get them tomorrow. This is what I'm doing - I cancelled my preorder with Amazon as I'd rather pay $2 tax and go get 'em on release day rather than suffer at the hands of media mail.
