That and Kim going on the mission. Uh-huh. And from the eps before that an army wife with no training would suddenly be used as an undercover agent. Which leads to a army wife that is suddenly interrogating a suspect in the assassination plot of the vice president.
Uh-huh.
Seeing that Coolbreeze directed this latest one maybe explains why it was so poor an ep. Again YMMV.
Re: The Unit: Season 4
Kim's participation in this week's episode made sense -- she was helping cover for her husband's addiction.Re: The Unit: Season 4
Yeah I agree that her going with Brown this week wasn't that far-fetched. But I also agree that her involvement in bringing Reed down in earlier episodes was WAY out there. But it did make for some pretty compelling scenes.Re: The Unit: Season 4
Well I think the new guy has certainly earned the respect of the team, falling on the grenade, I hope he gets some recognition.I am still unclear on Col. Ryan's explanation for the need to move the team and their families, anybody else get that?
I know enough to know I don't know enough!
Re: The Unit: Season 4
I think the idea is that whoever hired the goons to release the gas may very well know the team is there.Six worlds prayed to her, they built her temples, conquered planets, and yet one day she still rode off and destroyed all six worlds. And when the last warrior was dying he said "We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?" and she looked down upon him and she whispered, "Because I can".
Re: The Unit: Season 4
As another poster said on another forum- What a bizarre episode. The whole Mack thing was the ultimate definition of pointless filler.
No real questions answered about what Whiplash's issue is. I also find it hard to believe the Army wouldn't take him into custody.
Overall, one of the worse eps for awhile.

Yeah, that was out there. I didn't think he did as much damage as what her body showed. The Mack stuff this week was pointless and uninteresting. And jeez...I think this was the 4th week in a row the show started well after the slotted time and I was stuck with 30+ minutes of that horrible procedural show that airs prior. I know it was due to the basketball a few weeks ago, but what was it this week? Either way, I really wish they would update the guide data when that happens. Good thing for Bit Torrent.

Well, I must disagree with the posts here about this particular show.
I REALLY enjoyed this episode more than most. I especially enjoyed the spiritual aspect of it, all the church scenes were great and I applaud them for doing it so well. Bravo to the producers and network for this.
Also, I think they may be going somewhere with the whole "Whiplash" thing. It may be a top secret assignment direct from the White House or President himself. If so, I think they are using him to flush out a traitor that may be in the UNIT. I still think it's the woman Whiplash attacked. This could be not only to put her on guard, but to make him seem unstable mentally. If she or the traitor that is still believed to be somewhere inside think he is rogue, they may let their guard down and even approach Whiplash to try and recruit him. Just a theory, but one I think would be interesting and something a special forces unit would do.
Re: The Unit: Season 4
We have so much to watch, that at this point I don't care when they screw up the schedule; I just skip the show.Re: The Unit: Season 4

Good ep. Felt like the ending of the show if it doesn't get renewed.Re: The Unit: Season 4

Agreed.
It would be a damn shame for the show to not be renewed--I think it fills a much-needed role on television. There aren't many (NCIS being the other that I can think of) network shows that deal with the military, and I found The Unit to be a welcome respite in the sea of seemingly-endless cop shows and reality "tv."
Re: The Unit: Season 4
Is Jag still on? If so, that's another. And I think either Jag or NCIS is supposed to have a spin-off. So hopefully you can still get your military fix, though that may be small consolation for The Unit fans.Studios, caption your internet streams.
Re: The Unit: Season 4
JAG has been gone for as long as NCIS has been on.Re: The Unit: Season 4

Re: The Unit: Season 4
yes, a good send off if that is it.this is one of the only shows that i actually look forward to watching anymore.
i am surprised that there isn't more a following here on htf. only two pages for an entire season.........

That's probably a good indicator of why it is likely not going to be renewed. It was a great series, but to be honest, we lost interest over the last year plus some. It became relatively repetitive to us.Re: The Unit: Season 4
Great series finale. Gotta hand it to Mamet and the boys for having the foresight. If it does get renewed they have several storylines to expand on, but if it doesn't there were no unresolved cliffhangers. This season was the ultimate in potential for "The Unit". Taking care of a domestic threat in a season long story line is what I was waiting for.

Re: The Unit: Season 4
'The Unit' and 'NCIS' may both be military shows, but the similarities end there. 'The Unit' is on a whole other level as far as writing goes.Pretty good way to end the series, although I still don't understand why Whiplash had a shrine of Bridget. I get that part of his mission was to assault her, but why the shrine?

Hope this series isn't done. It is a nice change of pace from the other crap out there.

I watch both The Unit and NCIS, and actually, i think NCIS is a lot better written, and acted. The only thing that The Unit beats NCIS at is special effects.Re: The Unit: Season 4

I am personally a big fan of both. NCIS is like my "safety show," along with Numb3rs, where I generally know who is good and who is bad (though the last episode was pushing this), and there are few surprises each week. It also dominates the ratings, so I know it'll be back. The Unit operates in different territory, and tackles different subjects, which I also find interesting.
Hopefully The Unit gets renewed, but at least it had a good finale, if it isn't (and a four-year run isn't anything to complain about, these days).
Re: The Unit: Season 4
I used to be a big fan of Numb3rs, but there were some remarkably poor episodes this year (like the train wreck -- I mean the episode literally about the train wreck -- it and many other episodes this seasons were figuratively train wrecks!
)

For what it's worth, I'm a big fan of David Mamet and his style of writing, so I'm probably biased.

NCIS is definitely not a CSI clone. It is much more action/investigation oreinted and only throws a bit of the forensics in occasionally. They have been doing a lot of spy/terrorism lately, the cast is top notch and the show reminds me nothing of the other CSI clones.

I agree 100%. The shows have nothing in common. The characters and their interaction is what drives NCIS. The casting was/is brilliant. I hope we can say the same about the show's spin-off.
