Magnat Alpha 25A blown fuse

Hello,
I have an issue with an old sub of ours; a Magnat Alpha 25A. After moving from Germany to the UK, we plugged it in and immediately the fuse in the sub blew. However, looking at the fuse, I have no idea what ampage fuse to buy to replace it. Can anyone help there? Also, I noticed that the power cable to the amp was using a 13 amp fuse - would that cause an issue?

Cheers,
Stephen

Re: Magnat Alpha 25A blown fuse

Stephen,

Welcome to the forum!

On the continent we have 220-240V power, in the UK that is 110/120V. Also, the connectors are quite different.

Your first priority should be to determine if the amplifier in your sub can handle the UK power specs and if it cannot, acquire a power converter.

Once you apply the proper voltage, the current will probably also be the same as intended and you can reinstall a similar fuse as the blown one.

If the sub was an English one in the first place and never used in Germany because of the voltage difference, something else must be the problem: perhaps with the circuitry. That should be solved first in that case.
