Any advice on finding a good real estate agent to sell my condo?
Selling it myself is not an option. I've moved out of it and am about 2 hours away. Moving back there is not really an option, either. I know where I want to go eventually, just need to sell that before I can go there and buy the home I want.
Finding agents is not a problem- there are plenty of them. The trick is finding a good one. Some don't know what they're doing, or focus on getting listings rather than selling (since they get a part of the commission either way). Some know how to use modern methods like the Internet, some don't and so on.
If it were a house, I would drive around the area looking for "Sold" signs with agents names and call those agents. But the area is all condos where signs like that aren't allowed.
I'm going to start with a couple who send postcards announcing their new listings or sales, since at least they are marketing.
How can I sort through them and find a good one to list my property?
It seems a bit like interviewing people for a job. What are good questions to ask? I'm going to try to set up some interviews on the phone so I don't have to make too many trips over there. If I lived closer to the property I could be more casual about it.
Thanks.
