Price point be Damned. I'm buying this

Strange thing is, I could have sworn Jewel Staite said she was going to record some new stuff for this set. Why isn't she on it?

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Firefly The Complete Series (Blu-ray)

This show was one of the only 2 sd-dvds I have purchased since April 2006 and so.....Hell Yes I'm buying this even if it's rather expensive for 13 episodes. But it's Fox.

120 bucks in Canada? I would like to get this but I would have to have even bigger rocks in my head than Fox already has in theirs.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Firefly The Complete Series (Blu-ray)

Yeah, I don't know why companies haven't recognized that the exchange rate is hovering around 1:1 right now.

I look at that $90 price and am glad it appears scheduled to come out during the DD November sale. That'll probably get it below $60.

Good call on the DD sale. I'd like to pay no more than $40 for this but, maybe a few dollars more than $40 would be ok.

I remember her saying the same thing. It could have been a scheduling conflict with "Stargate Atlantis".

Disney/Buena Vista/Miramax: Please put Beautiful Girls on Blu-ray with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer in 1080p, and an anamorphic re-release with bonus features and the original theatrical trailer day-and-date on DVD. Thanks!

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Firefly The Complete Series (Blu-ray)

I just hope Fox re-rendered the CG shots. The episodes aired on Universal HD had a lot of special effects shots that were SD upconverted.

Doubtful. An educated guess here is that it will be exactly what was broadcast on UHD.

Agreed. In light of the FX issue, I have solidified my decision to wait for both reviews and either a sale or a price-drop on this before biting. I really enjoy this show, but I can only watch a even a half-season's worth of TV but so many times. Additionally, it is a common gripe, but when I can purchase Pushing Daisies and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for $20 a piece, $60 plus for the same number of episodes is a bitter pill to swallow.

Re: TCFHE Press Release: Firefly The Complete Series (Blu-ray)

I just watched some select episodes from the SDVD.
Now this is the first time I actually watched it on my LCD television in 480P. It was a nightmare. The dark scenes looked so doggone bad(excessive grain) that I had to stop watching. This is after tweaking the thing twelve ways to Sunday to try to get a passable viewing experience. No luck.

I found this very strange, because on my CRT tv(Sony Vega) it was absolutely beautiful. To make sure I'm not crazy, I checked again on that tv, and it was once again beautiful.

It will be interesting to see how it looks on Blu-Ray.
