Circular white/light spots

Have a new projector with only maybe 15 hours on it or so. When I have a black screen/background I notice 2 "lighter" spots...almost perfect circles in the upper right screen, about the size of a grapefruit. Last night when watching a movie I noticed what looked like faint other cirlces appearing. Only can see them when the screen is black or blank??? Any thoughts on this?

Re: Circular white/light spots

It sounds like dust blobs. Did you clean the outside of lens? It's probably inside the lens though.

Re: Circular white/light spots

My guess is that if you see the light spots when the screen should be black, that it isn't dust. Most likely it is some other light source reflecting from your screen. Dust on the lens, IMHO, produces a large diffuse light.

If you see these ghosts when your projector is off, then it's almost certain to be some other light source! Experiment a bit. Turn the projector off, and turn other lights on and off until you determine which one(s) are making the spots, and then shield them so their light does not hit the screen.

I could be wrong, but give it a shot.
