Hello,

My friend and I are moving into a new apartment and we are split between to separate HTIB's and are having a hard time deciding what to buy. We aren't very experienced with this sort of stuff, but I have been doing a lot of researching on this forum and on the internet to get a good idea of what to buy.

My friend and I have narrowed it down to two options -- The Logitech Z-5500 ($260) and the Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX265 ($330). We are on a restricted budget so spending anymore than this is not an option.

Yes, I am aware the the Z-5500 is not technically a "HTIB" as it runs from a computer, but it can be used as a HTIB because it has adequete connectivity and can perform just as well, if not better, than most $500 and under HTIB's (at least this seems to be the common belief from many forums).

On the other hand, it is my roomies opinion that we would be better off with the Sony Bravia because it is a real HTIB, comes with a dvd player, and looks "cleaner."

On last note is that our living room is not very big, so projecting sound a long distance is not an issue.

What we want here is the best bang for our buck AUDIO WISE. We want the best performance and deal we can get even on our limited budget. So please, help us make the right decision by giving us your unbiased opinions between the two products. Thank you very much.
