I have a Pioneer SX-311R stereo receiver from, what, 1992? Now, I was looking into getting a 5.1 channel surround sound home theatre syetem. So I noticed that my receiver won't work with the 5.1 surround. So, where can I get a cheap one?? Do I have to?

thx

Re: Surround reveiver???

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking... A receiver from 1992 will not be able to play 5.1 (most likely unless it has RCA inputs for 6 channels).

I would suggest learning more about 5.1 (or 7.1). A good place to start would be here - http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...newcomers.html.

Re: Surround reveiver???

This Onkyo 340 refurb from Accessories4less.com is the least expensive 5.1 receiver I could find. Check PriceGrabber/receivers.com for a fine selection of other receivers that are available.
