Best upscaling VHS & DVD recorder ???

Looking to get a good recorder to transfer VHS home movies to DVD. Would
like to get an upscaling one that doesn't have the copyright problems that
some exhibit. Any personal experience info is greatly appreciated. Tnx in
advance.
