Theater Curtains, my Current Project Setback

My current HT project is near completion and I decided to go with an acoutically transparent screen. As the speakers go behind this, the screen is not hung on a wall, but framed, and self-standing.

I then decided to buy a motorized, remote control tack system so that I can buy curtains and have them automatically open up like a theater.

My problem is that I never anticipated the price tag! I also have an unusual shape. You can see from the attached picture that the ceiling has two levels as there is a boxed-border.

So I was thinking of hanging the track, spanning from the lower ledge to the other with 2X4's supporting above. Then I would require 90" long drapes that would need to be at least 100" wide each! I would also have to hang a valence to cover up the high part of the ceiling above where the track will be mounted.

Anyone know where I can get affordable drapes, or should I buy fabric and start sewing?

Re: Theater Curtains, my Current Project Setback

my standard go-to for theater fabrics is Rose Brand (http://www.rosebrand.com). They have fabrics in long rolls in widths up to something like 115" (depending on the type) in addition to a variety of "other" fabrics.

THey also do curtain hardware.

Nevermind, I found a good set on the internet for $30! These would have cost $3,000 at my local drapery store. Woo Hoo!
