Projector Bulbs

I have an Epson Powerlite 550 and need to replace the lamp. Does anyone know where I could just get the bulb and not the whole lamp assembly. There must be a cheaper alternative to spending $300-$400 on a replacement.

I'd like to find something like that for my 400Q....just the bulb.

Just a thought, but a lot of bulbs have a three letter designation somewhere around the ceramic area. If yours has that and you can find it, you might be able to get just a bulb from a lighting supplier.

Be aware, you never touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands.
