Every Which Way But Loose
The Gauntlet
Outbreak
Eraser
Under Siege 2

I'll pick-up all five of those titles. It's nice to see some more Eastwood on Blu-ray too.

good news on the Gauntlet, hopefully it won't be the same transfer as on the SDDVD it needs some work.

Color me confused, too.

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself. Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

maybe he included Blow, because thats coming too.

but why put a total on a headline when plenty more then 6 are coming.
also maybe confusing to people looking might be the "Gaultlet" what movie is that.

Re: Warner brings The Gauntlet and Every which way but loose, to Blu Ray total of 6

Under Siege 2 is one of my all time favorite guilty pleasures, and for the price Eraser would probably be an impulse buy for me as well. Having said that, why do I get the feeling these will have lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 only? If that's the case, I'll be passing.

Some specs:
DVD Times - Warner 'Action' Titles (US BD) in September - Artwork added

No extras, but old DVDs were also bare bones (trailer and some text notes, though). Most seems to have also Dolby TrueHD.

"Eraser" is probably the worst film ever by Arnie (and sad excuse for a action film), but I´ll probably get the Eastwood-titles and also "Outbreak (1995)" (was it good or not, can´t really remember..).

I remember being entertained by Outbreak. Looking forward to seeing it again, this time on HD. We'll probably see a remake with bird flu someday...

I haven't seen it, but can it really be worse than The Sixth Day? That was TERRIBLE.

I'll pick up The Gauntlet for the Frazetta cover art alone.

I'll take a pass on all of these, especially The Gauntlet which, in my opinion, is Eastwood's worst action picture. Sondra Locke should be locked in a portable toilet and set on fire. What was his attraction to her anyway? Is this the best Warner can do with their extensive catalog?

I absolutely agree. Nothing here to get excited about. They seem an odd bunch to bother with at a time when the format is still young, production costs higher, and a lot of people looking eagerly to see which titles get rolled out next.

Re: Warner brings The Gauntlet and Every which way but loose, to Blu Ray total of 6

Sweet !!!

Every Which Way But Loose (?)
The Gauntlet (Dolby True HD)
Outbreak (Dolby True HD)
Eraser (Dolby True HD)
Under Siege 2 (Dolby Digital)

(The artwork on DVD Empire shows Dolby True HD on the above Bluray titles).

Now if the artwork and information on the site is correct then The Gauntlet, Outbreak and Eraser all have Dolby True HD. I find it curious that Under Siege 2 did not merrit a lossless track? But the three previously mentioned titles will be added unless the video presentation is screwed up by the use of DNR, then it is no sale.

Most of these titles are a must purchase and I can not wait to get The Gauntlet, Eraser and Outbreak in HD, I hope they do fresh transfers for these titles.

One thing makes me wonder though. Couldn't they do a better job at the art work for the cover?

Love the artwork to The Gauntlet, entertaining movie too, a bit of a spoof of the Dirty Harry series in my mind.

I'm surprised by all the negativity of these titles, it's a fun line-up, Eraser is a great fun guilty pleasure movie, far from Arnies worst IMO, Every Which Way But Loose and The Gauntlet are both a good laugh and decent entertainment, in fact they're two of Eastwoods most fun movies IMO.

Eraser should look and sound great on Blu-ray Disc.

Can't wait.

The poster art for The Gauntlet was done by Frank Frazetta, probably most famous for his Conan art.

Also the Eastwood/Orangutan pictures did HUGE business at the boxoffice, so its not surprising that they are being released.

I hope Any Which Way You Can is in the next wave of Warner catalogue titles.

In fact there's a lot of Eastwood titles that I'd rebuy on Blu-ray, I hope these are coming soon:

Kelly's Heroes (WB)
The Bridges of Madison County (WB)
Where Eagles Dare (WB)
City Heat (WB)
The Rookie (WB)
Absolute Power (WB)

Dollar Trilogy (Sony/MGM/Fox)

Two Mules for Sister Sara (Universal)

Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (MGM)

To me these titles are mildly entertaining at best aside from US2 which I never had a desire to see. Yeah there are much worse Arnie flics than Eraser which was OK for a brainless actioner...........
such as
than

anyway

I can't say I have a desire to own any of this batch of titles so it's a whole lot of meh to me considering the titles available to Warner.

Overall the goldmine of Warner titles available would be too numerous to list but in regards to just Eastwood titles, more appealing selections would be Outlaw Josey Wales, Where Eagles Dare and Kelly's Heroes any of which and I'd be jumping for joy.

Ah, "Batman & Robin". Now that´s probably the worst film EVER.

Thing still is, that everyone was s**t on that, so it doesn´t count.

I'm hoping with all the miscommunication between Warner and their press department that Under Siege 2 indeed has TrueHD. It's possibly my favorite guilty pleasure of all time, and would make up for Under Siege being encoded for a 15 GB disc.

This (BD) is already out at least in Scandinavia, and it has "only" Dolby Digital 5.1.. So at this point it seems, that the press release is correct.

If handled well (such as no distracting DNR), I'll probably pick up Every Which Way But Loose. I remember watching this movie all of the time on cable and VHS growing up so I sort of have something for it. If I recall, the DVD looked pretty good for the age of the film.

I just saw Every Which Way last night and was very, very pleased. The opticals (credits, dissolves) have the expected - and welcome - grain, and the balance of the film had a nice, sharp, film-like quality. There is a little gate weave but it looks fantastic, overall, IMHO. Whites are a little on the hot side, but no big deal.

I have a very soft spot for this movie. Saw it as a 10-year old in late '78 with my dad. Just the credit sequence alone, with the title song playing in the background, makes me smile. Kinda like the credit sequence to another unrelated film from '78, Foul Play.
