2 HDMI receivers, 1 TV

OK I have my HD dvd player connected to my TV via HDMI. I just got a new cable box that has an HDMI output. Can I connect both the player and cable box to the TV using an HDMI splitter? Will I be able to see both at the same time?

You need an HDMI switcher, not a splitter. Pick the one that you need here.

Actually Robert, he wants to see both sources at the same time. No, you can't do that as far as I am aware

I took the 2nd question as a 'if the splitter works' type question. I ignored it since the 1st question wouldn't work.
