Ergo Proxy (Anime) - Why OOP?

Hi All -

I am not a collector of Anime on DVD, so maybe this is standard with anime, and I would love to know if it is. Ergo Proxy was released in 6 volumes, the latest only coming out last year. Already the first three volumes are out of print, not available in most stores, and hard to find online. I don't need references for where to buy them, I was wondering if this may mean a complete set is on the way, or do Anime DVDs typically get limited runs?

Thanks!

Re: Ergo Proxy (Anime) - Why OOP?

Geneon USA, the company that released the DVDs shut down on December 31, 2007. This series was lucky since the final volume was one of their last releases. Others series were just dropped when the company closed leaving some consumers feeling a bit cheated since they purchased the first few volumes and will, at least for now, not be able to complete their collection.
