Re: Yes! 'The Fall' hits BD on September 9th.
I am eagerly looking forward to this release. I only managed to catch a few clips during its brief marketing campaign on television which left a tantalizing impression of the film's aesthetic. Happy to hear that this is a Sony release as they are doing a stellar job with Blu-ray releases these days.
(And yes, I've read some of the reviews and quite frankly the visuals alone will be enough for me.)

Fortunately this is still playing in the Washington DC area. I've been dragging my feet on seeing it. I suppose I'd better get out there soon if I don't want to wait until September.

I saw it and I recommend it. Full of arresting imagery and some truly amazing locations. The little girl in the film is very charming--it's fun to watch her seemingly improvise her way through scenes, while Lee Pace tries to keep her roughly on track. Should make a great blu-ray.

I'm looking forward to this as well, a blind buy indeed.

I bought this blind and finished it tonight, amazing, I loved it. Beautiful imagery, some amazing scoring and a decent story. The image did seem to lack a little detail, it seemed a bit soft but other then that a fantastic Blu-ray.

From my theatrical viewing, for most of the wide angle establishing shots, the image is very soft for most of the film. I doubt it being mastered in 1080p HD represents a huge leap in visual quality from its 480p DVD counterpart. The beauty of the film derives more from the settings and the compositional eye of the director when he shot all of these scenes while on location doing other commercial work, which allowed Tarsem access to these wonderful locales, but it was shot on a shoestring budget as a cinematic labor of love, and it looks it in a few of the scenes.
